Pedestrian Safety

Regulating, guiding, and controlling traffic and school children through busy intersections using your agency-issued safety equipment and high-visibility gear.

Command Presence

Remaining standing in full view of passing vehicles for specified shift windows to proactively slow down traffic.

Vigilant Oversight

Staying alert for potential hazards, recording the license plates of reckless drivers, and reporting road dangers, equipment defects, or active emergencies immediately.

Do You Have What It Takes?

Physical & Medical Standards

Because this role requires swift action to keep children out of harm’s way, guards must meet the following baseline standards:

Agility & Movement

Must be sufficiently agile to move quickly out of the path of danger. Candidates must successfully pass an initial agility assessment and maintain the ability to pass it annually.

Annual Medical Exam

Ability to pass an occupational health medical clearance on an annual basis.

Visual Acuity

Strong visual depth perception, peripheral awareness, close/distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus rapidly across moving traffic lanes.

Guarding our children requires alertness, agility, and a welcoming presence. Ensure you meet these core requirements before applying:

Paid Certification & Onboarding

We ensure you feel confident, equipped, and safe before you ever step onto the blacktop.
All incoming guards attend a comprehensive state certification course covering traffic management, pedestrian positioning, and safety protocols. A passing score of 75% or higher on the certification exam is required, followed by brief annual re-certification sessions to keep your tactical skills sharp.
